DESIGN PLAN





Good morning!  

Yesterday I was on a panel at Americas Mart talking about social media.  Like I'm an expert or something:)

Which clearly I am not but I sure had fun!


I got a chance to wear my new jewelry from Scott's and the most comfy shoes on the planet.


My team and moderator Betsy Riley [editor in chief of Atlanta Magazine].  I was kind of glad to be at the end because by the time the question got to me it had already been answered and I got to give a short smarty pants answer that made no sense.

I have a reputation to keep right.....head back.....hearty laugh.

Anyway...enough about me.

I am working on a new project which includes 2 bathrooms, living room and master bedroom.

The bedroom has a small foyer that is begging for a party dress.....so with some big changes  you will come around the corner and stop in awe....haha.


First up is to remove the wallpaper and then I want to add some moulding to the doors.....something like these below.




With some pretty hardware by Emtek.


Now I guess you want to know what the wallpaper is going to be?



This gorgeous Thibaut paper which is the softest blueish gray....

For the ceiling I want to add crown moulding plus take out these can lights and replace with something pretty.

On this wall I will add a beautiful mirror!



This one from Mirror Image Home is a favorite.

The bedroom is huge!  enough space for a sitting area and a chaise lounge over by a beautiful view.

More on that later!

But here is the tentative plan....

Very classic traditional!  I am trying to channel my inner Phoebe Howard......

I'm pumped about this one.....

BOULDER PROJECT

I stayed up past midnight finishing the Amazon show Jack Ryan.  I'm not sure what got into me....because normally I want to savor the end of a show but this one had me hooked pretty badly! And who knew that John Krasinski was hubba hubba.  And.... he is so tall....and apparently when he took his shirt off.... he's no stranger to the gym. Now that I am  finished with Ozark and Jack Ryan.... I'm waiting like a kid for Christmas for season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The good news is my stepdaughter and her husband finally found a permanent  house just outside of Boulder.  After all the flipping it was time to have their own place so I have been busy helping them with new furniture. Here is a look at the living space.  [real estate shot] And the plan....Take down that wallpaper and paint the walls white.  Duh...right? Second....change out that fireplace to something like below.  Granny called and she wants her fireplace back....hahahaha.  [...

BATHROOM RENOVATION

Y'all I had the most relaxing weekend....up at Lake Burton with friends! Just 48 hours but damn I needed it......Saturday it rained ALL day .  I never got out of my jammies [taking a shower and putting them back on ha ha] I looked at design magazines, got on Pinterest....it was wonderful. We drank and laughed...so good for the soul right? As you can see by 6:30 I only had this many steps! Monday was tough. #reentry As I mentioned.....I am in the middle of 2 bath renovations. #1 before   Scary huh?   Here is the plan.  Take out the tub and make it a shower.  After it was gutted we managed to find 12" to make the ceilings 9 ft.  That was a miracle! Painting the vanity one of my favorites.....navy. Here is the tile from Renaissance Tile.  Bathroom #2 [before] is directly across the hall. We are taking out the wall separating the tub/toilet  with the vanity. Adding a window for some much needed light!  After I made this board I went out...

DESIGN PLAN

Remember me?  I'm back from Boulder and as usual it was jam packed with building furniture [epic fail], shopping, styling and coming up with economical ways to pull this project together in 3 days. This was one of the pieces we tried to build Um.....after 2 hours we gave up and it is now going back to Target half built and with a bad taste in our mouth.  Don't tell me while I am slaving..... trying to put it together..... to watch a video on how to put the drawers together. That sent me over the edge.   Hands in the air waving a white flag.  Done. And....I might add there are very limited resources as Boulder is about 45 minutes from Denver so there is no popping over to another HomeGoods to find that perfect piece. Getting creative is an understatement. Of course as usual some areas were not finished before I left but I will edit what pictures I have for the next post.
